What is Castle?
Castle is a podcast player with transcription capabilities. Search for, subscribe and listen to podcasts, create playlists and generate transcripts for entire episodes. Once a transcript is generated, it will be available for all.
Why was Castle created?
The number of times we wish we could share that one part of that one conversation from that one podcast episode. We have also talked about what it could be like if podcasts were searchable. You could type in part of the conversation you remember and be able to find which episode and where in that episode the conversation happened.
So we needed text of podcasts.
And then we started thinking about making podcasts more accessible for many - the hearing impaired, people learning new languages, people learning to read, academics and more.
Who is behind Castle?
We are a husband and wife team - Steve + Leigh. Steve has been a computer guy since the 90’s and always had a vision for building something. He’s moved from database management to web to mobile development. He’s also an avid podcast listener, especially on runs. We’re a literal mom and pop operation building and marketing Castle from home.
